I’m a Mac. And I’m a PC.

I absolutely LOVE the new Get a Mac TV commercials. They have six of them and the one currently on TV where I live is “Viruses.”

All commercials have two actors in them, one is the Mac and the other is the PC. The Mac is portrayed by Justin Long who played opposite Lindsay Lohan in “Herbie Fully Loaded” and whose new movie “Accepted” is opening soon. The PC is played by John Hodgman of the Daily Show.

The commercials show the difference between PCs and Macs and I think “Viruses” is the best one.

You can see all of them here.

Do re me fa so la TV

That’s what it says on a billboard I pass everyday. The billboard is for Comcast On Demand’s karaoke service.

It’s clever copy, but as with any other Comcast service, I’m confused as to how to get it. However, here’s where to search for a list of karaoke tracks available. Just search for karaoke.

Why?

I’m just another overeducated, underemployed, overworked, underpaid cubicle rat. I spend more than one-third of my time at the office or going to/from the office, less than one-third of my life sleeping, and the remaining time trying to do all the things one is supposed to everyday — eating, bathing, maintaining relationships, flossing, etc.

And everyday I’m bombarded with advertising and everyday I make decisions about how I’m going to spend my hard-earned money.

So my head gets filled with thoughts and reactions related to how people and institutions try to pry my money from my gnarled fingers. I’m starting this blog so I have a place to put these observations. I already have too many voices in my head.
