I'm researching the flat billed cap a little because my 9 year old wants to purchase one. He talked me into the shoes today that are "cool" and you wear with the flat bill cap. My only concern is that he will portray an image to others as being a little punk or someone who looks up to the "rap" - "druggy" type as his role model. I know children try different fads but I'm not completely sold on allowing them to always follow the fad or trend especially if it's wrong.

Cool... you got me. Here is an article about a new HSR station INSIDE SFO. Really neat. Maybe that station shouldn't have any advertising either. However, imagine what could be done with art, or electronic displays.

Mark, you're right! I forgot all about "Stand By Me."

What I remember the most is a spoof ad that one of the fast food chains, probably Wendy's, did during that time. They got a guy dressed up in a chicken suit and he was giving a talking head interview against a black background set up to look like the Citibank commercials. He was talking about the fast food menu with that same wistfulness as in the bank commercials.

Does anyone else remember that?

The 80's!

Hey! Being an 80's boy I certainly remember the Citibank Visa commercials you speak of. There were also a few Citibank Mastercard ones. The vast majority of them had "Stand By Me" playing in the background. My favorite one though was the one with the deaf person using sign language to tell their good Citi Visa story. Citibank is by far and away the nation and world's greatest bank!! Take care.
